Trauma-Sensitive Yoga to Help You Feel More Grounded and at Ease in you Body

A gentle, body-based approach to support healing from stress, trauma, and overwhelm

—at your own pace, with choice every step of the way.

What is TCTSY?

Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is a gentle, evidence-based practice designed to support healing from trauma, chronic stress, and burnout.

Rather than focusing on how a pose looks, this approach invites you to notice what you feel in your body—helping rebuild a sense of connection, safety, and choice from within.

No prior yoga experience is needed. There’s no pressure to perform, stretch deeply, or “get it right.”

Who This Is For

This work may be supportive if you are:

  • Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or constantly “on edge”

  • Navigating trauma, PTSD, or long-term stress

  • Experiencing burnout or compassion fatigue

  • A helper, caregiver, therapist, or educator who gives a lot to others

  • Looking for a gentle alternative to traditional talk therapy

  • Wanting to reconnect with your body in a safe, supported way

You don’t need to have a specific diagnosis—just a desire to feel more grounded and at ease.

What a Session Feels Like

Sessions are slow, invitational, and grounded in choice.

You might be guided to:

  • Notice your breath

  • Explore simple movements

  • Pause and observe sensations

  • Choose what feels right for your body

You are always in control of your experience.
Everything is optional.

There is no hands-on adjustment, and you are never asked to share more than you want to.

Benefits

Over time, this can help you respond to life with more steadiness and resilience.

Why This Approach is Different

Unlike traditional yoga classes, TCTSY is:

  • Trauma-informed and choice-based

  • Non-judgmental and non-performance focused

  • Designed specifically for nervous system healing

  • Grounded in research and clinical understanding of trauma

This is not about pushing your limits—it’s about listening to your body.
